Registered Charity Number 1121283 The object of the PTA is to advance the education of pupils in the School by: - developing effective relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with the School; - engaging in activities or providing facilities or equipment which support the School and advance the education of the pupils. Regular meetings are held with the staff of the school to organize activities, decide on priorities for donation of funds raised by PTA activities, and to discuss topics or issues raised by either staff or parents at the meetings, and exchange information. The PTA is registered as a charity by the Charity Commission and is recognized by HMRC as a charity for tax purposes, including Gift Aid. Donations by Gift Aid are a very effective way of giving as the Government pays back to the Charity the basic rate of tax paid (currently 28%). A Gift Aid form may be obtained from the School Office, or by download from this site. All parents, carers and staff are members of the PTA and eligible to attend meetings. The committee of the PTA are trustees of the charity, and are appointed by vote at the AGM held in September each year. Further committee members may be seconded as required. The PTA organizes and runs a number of successful events each term, the purpose of these events is to raise funds, and encourage participation in the activities of the School. Over the past five years the PTA has donated more than £60,000 to the School. The PTA has its own website www.philipandjames.ncpta.net for more information on forthcoming events. |
